Ariana Grande-Butera,/,a.ri'a.n@ 'gra?ndeI/AReeAH-n@ GRAHN,day;[note 1,] born June 26, 1993) is an American artist, actress and singer. Her fame is based on her four-octave vocal range as well as her trademark usage of the whistle register, which have been recognized as a major hit by critics and media. Grande has won numerous awards throughout her career which include two Grammy Awards and one Brit Award. She also received three American Music Awards, three Billboard Music Awards and nine MTV Video Music Awards.


The musical career of Grande began at her age of 15 when she appeared in the Broadway musical "13". Grande's vocals and the whistle sound on the album immediately compared with Mariah Carey.


She continued to experiment with pop and R&B in her second and third studio albums, My Everything (2014) and Dangerous Woman (2016). My Everything was an experiment in EDM. The album's three singles "Problem", Break Free, and "Bang Bang" became a worldwide hit. Dangerous Woman was her first album to reach the top spot in the UK. Personal struggles influenced her trap-infused fourth and fifth studio albums, Sweetener (2018) and Thank U, Next (2019) Both of them had commercial and critical success. Sweetener earned her the Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album and Thank U Next broke the record for having the most streaming week for a pop album . It also was nominated for Album of the Year. Grande was the first solo artist in history to be able to hold the top three spots on the Hot 100, and also the first female artist who made it to the top of the UK Singles Chart. Grande's 2020 collaborations with Justin Bieber ("Stuck with U") and Lady Gaga's "Rain on Me" Both of them won her the Grammy Award as Best Pop duo or group performance. Grande extended her trap genre when she released her sixth studio album Positions (2020), which , along with the title track were ranked at the top of the charts in the UK and US. Grande worked with The Weeknd on the remix of "Save Your Tears" and made it her sixth US number one single.
